I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane

Well, I leave for Logan in about an hour, my last few moments with Carla. I’m coughing and she’s vacuuming. The chemical warfare continues to rage inside me as steroids, antibiotics and other meds battle the infection in my lungs. I think the good guys are winning but firing all that ammunition turns me into a zombie and is a block to me focusing on the spiritual side of this journey. With God’s Grace, I’ll get through it. I know he is with me in both good times and bad, he is ever present, you just have to let him in.

This backpack contains all my stuff for the trip. It weighs in at 18 lbs. without the water pack. I’m not Taylor Swift so there will be no multiple wardrobe changes between legs of the journey. I’ll be wearing the same few clothes day after day after day. I needed to make space for all my meds.

Above is the 35,000 ft. view of my pilgrimage- yikes!
