Day 31- Grateful for what I Experience

Another day on the Camino. Today was 22 miles of rain, wind and chilly temps. I could have bitched about the conditions but nothing would have changed. I did not ask God to stop the wind and rain. Rather, I asked him to give me the strength and fortitude to march through the challenging elements. And indeed I made it through. While I walked through the element I tried to create concepts in my mind that might find their way to you but it seemed like the wind blew away all my thoughts. For most of the day, I had my head down as I walked through the truly inclement weather. One bit of comfort was the seemingly everpresent singing of the cuckoo birds. I never tire of their distinctive sound and I can hear them no matter what the weather. I was at peace today despite the conditions. I am just happy to be alive and living a life rich with family and friends. It bears repeating- you guys don’t know how much it means to me to have you be part of this journey. I read and reread your comments and draw great inspiration from your support.
