Day 36 The Long and Winding Road

Carla and I logged about 20 miles today on persistently up and down terrain. It started out very cold but the sun eventually took control. We took a few alternate routes to escape the paparazzi and found ourselves in quiet solitude- great feeling. We walked through some stands of eucalyptus trees and their scent was a nice break from the livestock fumes that permeate this stretch of the Camino. A number of chapels dotted our route and we were able to stop and pray in modest but powerful settings. The churches along the Camino are phenomenal respites and so inviting for prayerful reflection. We have 2 days and about 23 miles to go- hard to believe. Thanks for taking the journey with us

I believe Johnny V, Chris and I got our passports stamped at this church 10 years ago
