Day 26 Inner Strength

Today Carla and I walked more than 21 miles much of which was over challenging terrain. We are tired and sore. We needed to dig down deep to finish the day. We encountered Pilgrims with fresh legs having just started in Leon. We encountered solo Pilgrims whose partners fell victim to injuries that put them on a bus to meet at the day’s destination. Fortunately we were able to find respite in some houses of worship. While praying for some people I thought of the positive energy prayer creates. By praying for someone perhaps it inspires you to connect with that person in a positive way- offering friendship, care and concern. Stated another way, maybe prayer acts to motivate you to better connect with and support that person. In addition to the chapels we passed today, we visited the Cathedral de Astorga, another massive ornate structure with a museum attached. See pictures below.
