Day 2 Mercy
Today the Lord showed us mercy as the journey was much more manageable than yesterday. It brought to light the enormity of what Carla and I pledged to do. We need to break it down to one kilometer at a time to mentally survive. To anyone who looked, yesterday’s post had some technical difficulties- bound to happen when I’m the IT guy on the trip. It involved the video. I record our walk on an App called Strava then transfer it to an App called Relive that turns the data into a video then it goes to my YouTube account and then I try to link it to Squarespace where my site is maintained. So it’s not surprising I make mistakes. Bear with me. Last night we stayed in a converted monastery/hospital- very old. It was packed with peregrinos. There’s such diversity on the trail. People take on the journey for many reason and many different things happen to different people on the Camino. Carla and I befriended 2 separate women on the trail. Last night they both had dates so in addition to faith and spirituality there’s romance on the Camino. God is good. To my cycling buddies- “buen Camino” is the Camino’s way of saying “On your left”. I think I screwed up again uploading the video- sorry
At dinner the owner was kind enough to give me a shot of the Apple liquor made locally. It was indeed tasty
Another mound of grief, love, sympathy and remembrance
This tower repents one of the first forms of justice. It marked the site where evil deeds were addressed. When people saw it in the distance they knew it was where justice ( or what passed for justice) could be had. People faces accusations would be chained to this tower so town folk could see them and do whatever they liked to the accused in advance of what passed for a trial
