Day 7 Thanks Uncle
First day of rain. We weathered it well and the sun came out as we covered the last bit of ground. I have an uncle, on my mom’s side, who has a strong sense of faith. I’ve always admired him for that. He lives far away and we don’t connect often but when we do, it’s always a rich exchange. I called him the night before we left Saint Jean. He just seemed like the guy to call. We had a great conversation and he wished us well. He then said a prayer he had written. I’ve set it forth below. I walked in his honor today. Carla and I came upon a small 12th century church- San Andres Church in a medieval town called Villamayor de Monjardin. I knew my uncle would prefer a small simple place to pray. I read his prayer in San Andres. Pictures of the church are below. Thanks Uncle. Upon reaching Los Arcos Carla and I walked the narrow ancients streets and rested at an outdoor bar across from Santa Maria Iglesia and shared a pitcher of sangria, napped, had dinner and we then returned to Santa Maria for Saturday evening mass. Pictures and videos will not load so I’ll follow up this posting with a 7.1. Now my uncle’s prayer::
My Lord My God
With the help of Thy grace
May I walk with Dignity and act with Integrity and Humility
As I attempt to follow in the footsteps of Your Teachings
To love and forgive- Amen
