Day 20 Half Way
We passed the 250 mile mark today. The Meseta continues to challenge the imagination with its flat farmland as far as the eye can see. Our legs and feet keep asking us “what the heck are you doing?” They scream the loudest around the mile 10 mark of each day. We press on. As a sign of the times and the aging of the Camino villages, many of the churches along the way are locked. They provide respite, sanctuary, inspiration and a holy place to pray. I have started laying hands on the closed ones and praying which iactually works quite well. We had dinner at the Hostel last night at a table for 12. We communed with pilgrims from many different countries. I spent most of my time with a couple of Irishmen and we drank beer til the owner closed up. I did not hit my personal best on the walk today. Thanks for taking the time to follow our journey
