Peter and Carla's Camino

Day 17 Limitless

Today I was struck by the limitless possibilities to how we react to what we encounter in life. Millions of people have traveled the Camino for more than a thousand years. Each journey is unique. Where you start. Where you finish. How long you take. How painful it is. What motivated you to take the journey. Who you commune with on the Camino. Your thoughts. Your wishes. Your wants. Your burdens. Your blessings. The combinations are infinite. Carla and I have travelled with people we met as early as CDG airport in Paris. We’ve traveled with people who have met the same people we have met. The link is ever present and always evolving. Complete strangers will speak of the most personal tragedies because an aura of compassion fills the Camino. I feel honored and privileged people will share their burdens and grief with me. Again, it’s the human presence that makes the Camino the spiritual force it is. To be sure, Carla and I are tired and sore but with God’s grace and the support of our family and friends who are following our pilgrimage we press on. The encouragement from home is awesome and so appreciated.
