Day 7- And The Caravan Is On It’s Way

Well Mass last night was not in the grand cathedral, rather a more modest church- still a great comfort even though it was in Spanish. I chose the Eucharist over a late meal, right choice. Another good night sleep- yeah! I skipped breakfast and just started walking. After leaving town I was on a path and an old man with a cane slowly walked in the opposite direction. He stopped, smiled and said “Buen Camino” with a glint in his eye. I wished him well in Spanish. It was so genuine and heart felt I just marveled at the warm knowing exchange between 2 total strangers- a true Camino moment. I prayed for and talked to many people as I traversed alone through the rustic countryside. About halfway I teamed up with 2 Pilgrims I’ve been encountering off and on. We 3 old men fell into a forced march, stopping to rest and stopping for a beer then into town. My health continues to improve.
